3D Print Design Competition 2017
Tridilabs is happy to announce the start of series of Design Competitions, focusing on sustainability, smart living, innovative design, combined with additive manufacturing and 3D printing – you can now take part in the projects of the future!
HOW BIG ARE YOUR IDEAS?
We would like to challenge all designers, specializing in product, furniture and industrial design to take part and create a design of any type of furniture, which can be 3D printed.The maximum volume should not exceed 1 cubic meter!

THE IDEA
Take our challenge and give us your ideas of a chair, lighting, table, shelves or other decor and household items and we will 3D print it for you!
THE CATEGORIES
Participants may submit their designs in the following categories:
- Seating: armchairs, benches, chairs, lounge chairs, recliners, stools, etc.
- Planes: coffee tables, desks, shelving units, tables, etc.
- Lighting: ceiling lamp, floor lamp, table lamp, wall lamp, etc.
THE RULES
Every design that is submitted, must have the following characteristics:
- to be printed as one piece
- to be produced from plastic, wood, metal
- must not exceed x1000 y1000 z1000 mm
Every submission should contain:
- Design information including 2D drawings and perspectives in .jpg format and any other information that can back up the design idea. There should not be any marks or any other form of identification on the files. The file must be named after the name of the participant. For example: Name_1.jpg, Name_2.jpg, etc.
- A project statement in a DOC file (600 words max). This file must be named after the name of the participant followed by “project_statement”. For example: Name-project_statement.doc.

WHAT’S IN FOR THE WINNERS
FIRST PLACE
Every designer seeks publicity for his/her works, that is why the best design, awarded with the 1st place – will get a free modelling and 3D printing of the designed furniture on our Large scale 3D printer. A short video of the printing process will be made and showcased in our “Case studies” section. The best design idea will be advertised broadly and the author will be paid a commission every time we print the furniture/decor unit for a client.
SECOND PLACE
2nd place from all three categories will get top positions in our new “Design Corner” section. Our brand new section, especially created for all great designer works that we wish to showcase and include in our portfolio.
3rd, 4th, 5th PLACES
3rd, 4th and 5th places from all three categories – will be listed on rotational basis in our new “Design Corner” section. We will be happy to include all good designs of furniture items, household, decor, accessories and lighting in our portfolio.
